While using it will not make a huge improvement in font quality on a normal CRT screen, the improvement is quite dramatic on higher quality LCD's and especially on laptop screens.

Of course, big surprise, you'll have to use Internet Explorer to use it. I tried with Firefox, but it kept telling me to "turn it on" even after I checked the box that was supposed to do just that. Then I tried MSIE and gee, it worked. Go figure. Then on the next screen it installed an Active-X component, so that explained why it wouldn't have worked anyway.

Go to ClearType Tuner

P.T. At first it just seemed like a fun, and addictive web 2.0 web site. They show you 4 movies and you drag and drop them into one of 3 categories... and another movie appears.

It's addictive, hypnotic, whatever. I'm sure the movie site would make Joe Vitale proud. Speaking of Joe, have you read his latest bestselling book yet? It's another winner, don't miss it!

WatchThisNext.com, besides perhaps suggesting a movie you may want to see, is sort of pointless. But it's a great example of web 2.0 in use... and it may also be a money maker for the creator as every title links over to Amazon. Not that Amazon pays all that well, (though they did just increase commissions for sales of 20 or more items), but it will probably make them some decent money.

Too bad there isn't any way to save your selections... and they should probably also add a banner for NetFlix and perhaps Blockbuster to make even more money. I just wish I thought of this viral web site first.

The Violet Flame Forum

Event Producers, LLC is proud to announce an alliance with The Violet Flame of 42 Bridge Street in East Windsor, CT. The Violet Flame Forum (site not yet active as of March 2nd) is a series of weekend events featuring outstanding presenters who specialize in Spiritual and Holistic topics.

The first weekend will feature my client Barbara Hardie of Angel Connections.

To find out about other weekend events, join their mailing list here

Upcoming Angel Connections Workshops

Barbara M. If you're still using MSIE, you really need to switch. Even casual web surfers are missing out on so much. And if you're a power user such as myself, you'll never go back to MSIE once you make the switch. For security alone you'd want to switch, but there are just so many great features in the program.

If you need some help in the transition from the "dark side" of MSIE, you can check out "Firefox: How to..." The unofficial guide to Firefox. If you hurry you can buy it for just $17, but the price will be going up soon.

Besides the standard features, you can also add on extentions that increase the fuctionality of Firefox. Once you have tabbed browsing setup, you may want a quick way to navigate between tabs. I just got an extention called foXpose, which allows you to see a small screen shot of all of your tabs and jump quickly from one to another. I've seen this sort of thing for every window on a Mac, now at least you can use it for web surfing.

You can find and search all the available extentions on the Firefox Add-ons page.

Some other favorites are; BetterSearch (add screenshots to search engine results pages), Sage (RSS Feed Reader), Deskcut, Forecastfox, Tab Clicking Options, BlankLast (for tabs) and NoScript for that extra bit of security. And when you've got a good list of extentions installed, get InfoLister to keep a record of all the extentions, plugins and themes you have.

Stop Internet Explorer

I just found a cool site and of course in light of my last post about how much I love Firefox, and their 1 year birthday, it just made sense to mention this site.

StopIE.com
Help stop Internet Explorer, the world's most popular and worst internet browser. The reason? One year ago today, Firefox, a much better and safer web browser hit the market.

Since day one of using Firefox, I fell in love with it. How could you not love a web browser that in my experience crashes maybe once a month as opposed to every few days like MSIE? Firefox while not perfect, suffers from a lot fewer security problems than MSIE does.

And talk about customizations... it may have started out smaller, but today there are more than 700 extensions or "add-ons" for Firefox. Another feature that increases productivity immensely is tabs, a feature that MSIE to this day does not have in its current public release. (Those testing Vista finally can play with it though).

Happy Birthday Firefox
May this be the first of many great years to come!

I'm currently beta testing the Firefox 1.5 Release Candidate 1 and look forward to the release of the final version, hopefully later this year!

Bill Gates Trivia

Check out "14 things you didn't know about Bill Gates"

"Gates told his teachers in university he would be a millionaire by age 30."

Well, "Gates turned into a billionaire at age 31" so I guess he showed them!

Read More Bill Gates Trivia

Hundreds of New Books Added

Dicount New Age Books is growing...

Over 200 new titles were added to the site in October, including several books in the "Total" health series.

View these new titles.

Stay tuned, lots more new titles will be coming soon.

Marketing Your Home Business in Just 30 Minutes a Week

It’s all the rage. It’s what everyone is talking about. It is unquestionably the most effective form of marketing available to home based business owners. It costs almost nothing, it takes about 30 minutes a week, and it makes your business stand out above the competition.

What is this thing that everyone is talking about? The buzz is about “article marketing” – the practice of providing royalty free content to websites, e-zines and newsletters.

It works like this: You write a simple article that is interesting to a particular group of people. It doesn’t have to be The Great American Novel, just about 500 words on the topic of your choice. Then you submit your article all over the web to ezine publishers, newsletter editors and content-laden websites.

When they publish your article (and they almost always do) your target market reads your words, sees you as an expert (after all, you’re a published author!) and they click on a link to your website that you conveniently provided at the end of the article. Viola! Instant, qualified traffic.

And it’s not fleeting traffic. Your article remains out there for people to find for weeks, months, even years. As new people happen across your article, they click the link and visit your site. You have a perpetual traffic machine, driving tons of pre-qualified, open-to-an-offer, interested traffic to your site. This is better than advertising, and far less expensive.

The problem is the effort of submitting your articles to enough sites that you really make a splash. Most authors will submit their articles to 20-30 places before getting totally burned out on the submission process. It’s tedious, dull, drudge work.

There are three online services that automatically submit articles for authors. Each of these services explain the intrinsic value of publishing your articles, and of course they each describe their services as best-in-class. They range from single submissions to unlimited submissions and from completely free to $119.85. Check them out and draw your own conclusions.

http://www.SubmitYourArticle.com

Sends out articles in three categories: * Internet marketing/online business * Self-improvement/motivation * Health and fitness. The articles are consistently distributed.)

Cost:
Free Article Distribution: goes to over 2,000 people
Best Exposure: goes out to over 50,000 people: $8.95 for one article
3 months of Best Exposure: $39.95 for as many articles as you want to send out

- - - - - - - - - -

All three of these services seem to do a fine job submitting articles. They appear to have automated the process and articles are distributed within a few days of submission. Of course, each offers the disclaimer that your article will only get published if it’s interesting.

If you agree that Article Marketer is the best bet, then visit ArticleMarketer.com today!

-------------------------------------------
Guest Article By: Chris Ellington

Chris gives effective and easy to implement marketing strategies to small business owners and home business entrepreneurs.
