Search Google, Yahoo and More... with Screenshots

If you like hitting the SERP's with thumbnail previews, there is a new tool at our disposal if you're a fan of FireFox (which I use more than 95% of my day) called McSearchPreview which allows you to search normally and see thumbnails from ThumbShots and/or Alexa data with a few other goodies as well.

It works with Google, MSN Search, Yahoo Search, A9, AllTheWeb and more. Check out McSearchPreview

Also, FireFox recently came out with version 1.0 PR - so you might want to upgrade if you haven't yet. I don't know if you still need to or not, but I had problems upgrading the last time and apparently you are supposed to uninstall any old versions first... don't worry, all of your settings etc. are in a seperate directory and will not get lost.

I know because I read it, and I had so many problems last time that I needed to remove it all and had to figure out just how to do so! Also, if you install extensions, it's a good idea to do ONE at a time, close the browser, reopen it to complete installation and then move on to the next one. Otherwise, you can have problems... live and learn as they say. If you don't have FireFox yet, go get it!

While Google and other Pay Per Cick (PPC) providers are not releasing their numbers, it's becoming clear that PPC fraud is reaching staggering levels. Between automated clicking scripts and stories of rooms of people in India and elswhere in the world being paid on a per click basis, this is clearly an issue that is big with advertisers and those serving the ads.

One of my clients who supplements his search engine traffic with some Google AdWords recently saw an increase of over 40% in one month compared to several months prior. This may well represent valid clicks, but the implications are staggering.

Yahoo Embraces RSS Feeds

Yahoo has recently revised many aspects of their web site and has made adding RSS feeds to My Yahoo and even other RSS readers an easy thing to do. With this move, Yahoo has certainly embraced this format and I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of the same from Google, MSN and others in the months to come.

The push might be greater if MSIE supported RSS feeds, but fear not, as there are many RSS readers on the market, including the FireFox web browser, which I can not recommend highly enough.
